For 17 years, White led the United States Trustee Program (USTP), the Department of Justice's "watchdog" of the bankruptcy system. He retired March 2022, after 42 years of federal service. He is the recipient of two Presidential Rank Awards - the highest recognition accorded to senior career executives - by President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. As Director of the USTP, his accomplishments include the implementation of key provisions of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 and the Small Business Reorganization Act of 2019. John McMickle (Founding Principal @North South Government Strategies) From 1995-2001, John served as Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee where he advised Chairman Grassley (R-IA) on an array of policy matters under the committee's jurisdiction, including the last comprehensive re-write of the nation's bankruptcy laws. After leaving the Hill, he spent 10 years as a partner in the government affairs department of a major international law firm and then as President of a boutique public strategies consulting firm. John received a B.A. from the University of Tennessee in 1989 and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 1994.
